Counselling Canterbury - Frequently Asked Questions

Marie-France Lyell

MA MBACP (Accred)

1.  How long is a session?

Sessions are one hour duration.

2.  How much do you charge per session?

The fee is £45.00 for day time appointments and £50.00 for evening appointments (after 6.00pm).  This is payable by cash or cheque at the end of each session.

3.  What happens in the session?

The first session is an assessment and is used for general information gathering, and gaining a sense of each other.

4.  What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that 48 hours' notice of cancellation is given.  If you do not attend or cancel with less than 24 hours' notice the whole fee is payable.  This does not apply in the case of a genuine emergency.

5.  How do I arrange sessions?

Sessions can be arranged by contacting me by telephone, email or via the contact page on this site.

6.  How many sessions will I need?

Each person is different.  Sometimes people find a few sessions is all they need.  Some find longer term support beneficial.  We will review your therapy as it progresses.

7.  How often will I be seen?

Clients are generally seen on the same day at the same time each week where possible.
